Thins
We've been able to get time on a Wintersteiger resaw, and resawn a selection of exceptional boards to 7mm width, then sanded them to150 grit. Each thin is individually packaged in a heavy gauge plastic sleeve for stable storage. Dimensions vary, but most are about 7” wide by 24” in length. Currently available – Bubinga, Canarywood, Quarter Sawn Cherry, Lacewood, Chamoiré figure African Mahogany, Quilted Makore, Bird’s Eye Maple, Padauk, Purpleheart, Wenge and Zebrawood. Bookmatched thins are available at no extra cost!

Short term plans are to do batches in 4.5mm and 9 or 10mm thicknesses. Your input and "want lists" would be much welcomed here!

Cocobolo


We’ve been busy planing Cocobolo blocks and squares, some of which are now revealing quite spectacular figure. We’ve planed and clear-coated one side and one edge so you can get a good look at the possibilities awaiting.

Mouldings
Our sample board and catalogues have arrived, along with a small opening shipment of Cherry, Maple and Oak crown and bed mouldings. Our supplier, Royal Woodworking, also manufactures in Poplar, Clear Pine and Knotty Pine.



Highly Figured Bubinga 10/4

Our remaining huge planks have all been cut. In 10/4 we have about 15 table tops still available - sizes range from 16” x 48” through to 29 ½” x 60” and 22 ½” x 90”. We’ll be cutting up 4/4 and 8/4 in the next few days. These will be up to 34” wide. Sanding to 80 grit is available. For turners we have a variety of sizes and shapes from pen blanks, squares in varying lengths, and plate blanks up to 17 ½” x 17 ½”. 5mm and 7mm thins should be available later in the month.

Curly Old-growth California Redwood

We’ve also sliced a few of our remaining large blocks. Slabs are about 6-10” wide by 18” or so in length – 8/4ish. Very nice figure. Would look great turned or resawn for boxes.

Briarwood Burls

We’ve taken away the guesswork with a few of these burls and sliced a few into ¾” slabs. Wood is dry.


Red Mallee Burls

Also cut into ¾” to 1” slabs. This wood has a very pretty red tint at the centre that gradually fans outward.

Ziricote


As you can see, there is incredible figure in these blocks, and the wood is nice and dry. Large planks and bowl blanks for now, thins on their way soon.
